We started out at the Red Rock hotel. Amazing. Matt's old mission companion works there, and he hooked us up with VIP treatment. The pools there are amazing. There is even a private pool that we were able to swim at basically all day. We also got to stay at another Palace Station hotel, and Landon's wife works there so she hooked us up with a suite. We are so lucky.
Next it was off to San Diego where we all experienced our first night of sleeping on the beach. All we had was some tarps, blankets and pillows. When we woke up the next morning it was really overcast so we decided to head up to L.A. where we body boarded the rest of the day and had a quick Pizza Hut and Wienerschnitzel run. Good times. The next day was again filled with body boarding and more Pizza Hut. By the way if you are ever in L.A. never try to find a hotel that day, always get one before you go...nightmare!
We finally made our way back to Las Vegas, and that 110 degree weather never felt so good! Matt's brother Mitch was out of school so we were able to spend some time with him, Sarah and their two kids, who are the sweetest little kids we love them so much. Our stay at their house included some Nielson's Custard, Sammys (so good), California Pizza Kitchen, late night movies, bedtime stories, and some mini golf.
We are so thankful to have the coolest family and friends. They all made our trip a blast! Here are some photos from the trip. I am sad I didn't take more, but that is what happens when you are having too much fun.
